My Owlypia experience so far has been truly amazing. Though it was my first time participating in Owlypia, I feel like it really helped me improve in the IB Learner Profiles and Approaches to Learning (ATL Skills). My chosen favorite subject was Science and Technology, as this field fascinates me. Not to mention, I was awarded with an 8th place ranking and I qualified for the global rounds at Cambridge University. Not to mention how thrilled am I to know I got a gold medal!

The Owlypia competition was a fantastic way for me to learn more about the real world and develop valuable critical thinking skills. I was able to analyze society through my chosen subject (social sciences), and comprehend the significance of various current events. In the social sciences category, I achieved the first place globally in this prestigious international competition.

Owlypia really was the first time I ever engaged in a foreign competition. And as soon as I enrolled I was really happy and I felt great when I began reading the research guide. Having read all those resources I developed a new vision for my life, thus my goal in life has been changed: to become a CEO.

Owlypia has been a tremendous journey in my life. It helped me improve and develop my skills and personality. The topics, especially the ones including leadership related subjects, helped me build up my esteem and move forward. I chose the Art & Design topic for the Owlypia exam. There were some interesting topics to work on available as videos, documents and researching famous individuals. I studied hard for Owlypia and tried my best during the test. I felt confident about doing the test and I felt that my hard work would pay off… and it did.

As a teacher, taking part in the Local Round organised by The Spectrum School in Constanta, Romania had a huge impact on me! I strongly believe such competitions are extremely valuable and should be promoted more often in the future! Seeing the sparkle in my students' eyes and hearing them sharing their desire to get involved in the promotion of such a local event in our own high school mean a lot to me!
